Shari Tan

When working with parents or caregivers with children with special needs, Shari is able to intimately relate with and facilitate the co-creation of functional goals and workable solutions.

Shari naturally gravitates towards play therapy and trauma-informed methods when working with children and regularly incorporates developmentally appropriate, play-based approaches in her work with children using methods such as sand play, art or sensory worlds.

Modalities used may include: Internal Family Systems therapy, Brainspotting, Trauma/tension Release Exercises, Motivational Interviewing, Solutions-focused Brief Therapy and Play Therapy. Her approach is often eclectic, preferring to integrate current research with evidence-based modalities, and tailored to the needs and goals of each unique client.
